Helga (Coco's mom) and I cannot thank you enough for all of your continued efforts in doing everything possible to achieve justice for sweet Coco. Sentencing for Phillip Savelli resulted in the maximum penalty available to the judge. However, we still have a long way to go in order to improve our laws. Here is what the judge decided: - Despite Phil's attorney asking for Phil's three felonies to be consolidated into one count, the judge ruled to keep them as three separate charges -Three years of probation ---Mandatory monthly check-ins ---Random drug and alcohol testing (docket says only drug but judge said drug and alcohol - still waiting on court to provide clarification) ---If any violation of probation occurs, Phil will be sent to prison for three years -Psychiatric counseling (another item that doesn't the docket that I am waiting on clarification for) -Phil being added to the Cuyahoga County Animal Abuse Registry -Prohibited from owning or caring for companion animals indefinitely -Prohibited from having contact with Helga or her family -60 days in jail Thanks to all of you, we were able to create the highest profile animal cruelty case the court has seen with more than 78,000 signatures from over 158 countries and over 200 PDF pages of letters addressed to the judge! We were also able to achieve a sentence that no one thought possible. Please click the link to read all the details about the sentencing, access links to watch footage and to read about how we can continue this fight to ensure that monsters like Phil Savelli stay locked up and never hurt another sweet, innocent animal. You are all a blessing to Coco's family, and if you would like to keep fighting for stronger laws in the memory of Coco, please join the Facebook group or subscribe on the website to receive info on what you can do to help.
