Roger Elder went out looking for his neighbor's dog Chase, found him, then intentionally ran him over, killing him in cold blood. This was no accident. It was a deliberate, malicious act of cruelty. According to the police report, Elder showed no remorse, stating: “I wish the dog was alive so I could kill the dog again.”

Such horrifying callousness reveals a disturbing lack of empathy and a dangerous mindset that cannot be ignored.

Chase was not just a dog—he was a beloved family member. His tragic and senseless death has devastated those who loved him and shocked the entire community.

Animal abuse is too often minimized in our justice system. That must change. This case is a chilling reminder that these crimes are serious, and those who commit them must be held fully accountable. Animals like Chase rely on us to be their voice, their advocates, and their protectors.

We, the undersigned, demand justice for Chase. We call on the State Attorney’s Office to prosecute Roger Elder to the fullest extent of the law. Harsh penalties for animal cruelty are not only justified—they are necessary to prevent others from committing such vile acts and to show that our community values compassion and justice.

Please copy the email addresses below and send the prosecutor and judge a respectul email asking that Roger Elder be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
