I’m starting this to have the law changed on cats being hit by motor vehicles. 

this morning my daughters emotional support cat was hit by a car which failed to stop. The result of this my daughter cat had to be put to sleep. 

this happened at 9:45am in clear day light and was captured on my cctv outside my house. When the driver was confronted around the corner from my home she did not offer help or give her details over and in fact denied running the cat over. When i explained and shown her the footage she showed no care in that she had hurt an animal due to not concentrating and being aware of her surrounding. 

As a family we are devastated. If this gets changed then people will be aware of impact it has on families as cats are just as loved as dogs etc..

I feel it should be an offence to not stop and report you have injured a cat while driving and you should be held responsible for vet fees. Law state you have to if you hit a dog etc so should be the same for cats..!!!
