This petition is a call to action to seek justice for Aubreigh Wyatt, a victim of sexual assault. Her trauma has been compounded by the inadequate response from her school and the seeming impunity of her assailant. According to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) study, nearly two-thirds of sexual assaults go unreported, and often when reported, they are not dealt with appropriately, especially among juveniles. Considering the irreversible psychological and emotional trauma victims like Aubreigh are subjected to, it's critical that we unite our voices and demand better. It is necessary for the school to take accountability and respond accordingly, and legal consequences should be mandated for the perpetrator. Not to act is to silently condone such heinous acts.
