It’s amazing to see that we will be surpassing 75,000 supporters any day now. We are humbled to see this support still going strong in spite of everything that has happened. However, the fight continues; help us spread the word about Team 11.
I know we had hoped to be reaching out to representatives by now, but unfortunately, anything we do right now will be overshadowed by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. I have been in contact with two congressional offices in recent weeks, and there is interest in Team 11 and the NMRG program’s situation. For now though, we will wait for a time in which we won’t be so dramatically overshadowed. Hopefully we will soon be able make congress sit up and take note! In the meantime, here are some highlights since my last update:
• We have upgraded/ expanded our fundraising platforms now that we have 501.c.3 status. Our GoFundMe (click to donate) was reconstituted into the tax-exempt variant, we have been enrolled in the Paypal Giving Fund, as well as the corporate donor-matching platform Benevity, and will enroll in other platforms as we go along.
• We have disbursed $6,500 to 22 families in the past 30 days.
• Two families have safely evacuated to Pakistan- the latest being this morning. One family has completed their immigration interview with the US Embassy, and another is set to have theirs in two weeks.
This road is long and hard, and the end is far from sight. Even so, we've had tangible, life-saving effects for over 150 people- and our best is yet to come. Help spread awareness about Team 11 situations by sharing on Facebook and Instagram.
