Justice for 60 Starved Animals — Demand Full Prosecution in Lafayette County Cruelty Case

Justice for 60 Starved Animals — Demand Full Prosecution in Lafayette County Cruelty Case
The Issue
Eighteen German Shepherds. Ten sheep. A dead dog.
All discovered in filthy, heartbreaking conditions in Lafayette County, Wisconsin.
In October 2025, officials uncovered the abuse on a rural property owned by Jeslias Murillo-Lopez, who now faces 60 criminal charges, including:
18 counts of intentionally mistreating animals
19 counts of failing to provide food
19 counts of keeping animals in unsanitary shelters
Mistreatment of animals causing death
3 counts of bail jumping
Photos show severely malnourished puppies, dogs forced to live in darkness, and animals reportedly feeding on the carcass of a long-dead dog. One deputy described the water source as “dirt sludge.” This is not neglect — this is criminal cruelty.
We call on the Lafayette County District Attorney’s Office and the presiding judge to:
- Pursue the maximum penalties for all felony and misdemeanor charges;
- Ban the defendant from ever owning or housing animals again;
- Ensure transparency in the case’s prosecution and sentencing outcomes.
The Green County Humane Society is working around the clock to care for the rescued animals — some just weeks old. But justice doesn’t end with rescue. It ends when those responsible are held fully accountable.
Sign this petition to demand full prosecution for this horrific cruelty — and justice for the 60 animals who suffered.
