An Orlando man was arrested this week on 8 counts of animal cruelty. His crime cost 16 dogs their lives and now we are seeking justice on their behalf.
Sidney Garrett, Jr., was arrested Tuesday, January 31, 2012, on 8 counts of animal cruelty. Orange County Sheriff officers found 17 dogs, four of which were puppies, in deplorable conditions: thick chains confined them to wooden kennels that contained no food and very little water. The dogs were a medical nightmare: they had fresh bite wounds, fractures, infections, mites, heartworms, anemia, and were malnourished and emaciated. Furthermore, the bite wounds and the fact the dogs’ teeth were filed point to dog fighting. The neglect was so severe that all but one of the 17 dogs, a puppy that suffered from mange and dehydration, had to be euthanized.
While that puppy is now safe with a rescue group, Garrett is still awaiting his fate. Please help ensure he never does this to another animal by signing this petition.
