Justice for 150 Dogs Saved from Starvation in Missouri

The Issue

This week, the Humane Society of Missouri’s Animal Cruelty Task Force rescued over 150 dogs — many malnourished, sick, and suffering — from horrific conditions at a home in Christian County.

The dogs were found in one of the worst hoarding and cruelty cases in a decade. Had rescuers not intervened, many of these animals might not have survived.

Now, we must ensure justice is served—and that this never happens again.

We’re calling on Missouri prosecutors and state lawmakers to pursue the strongest charges against the person responsible for this cruelty

We demand a ban for the offender from owning animals for life.

These dogs, some just puppies, endured extreme suffering behind closed doors. Rescue is not enough—there must be accountability.

The public showed up to help. Now it’s time for the legal system to do the same.

Tell Missouri: Hold animal abusers fully accountable. Protect the survivors. And make sure the next 150 dogs never have to be rescued in the first place.
