The meeting scheduled on April 2, 2026, with the Education Minister regarding the issue of 1,158 Assistant Professors and Librarians has once again not taken place, marking the seventh instance of postponement. Earlier dates including February 6, February 13, February 24, February 27, March 20, and March 26 had also seen similar deferrals, with no effective dialogue held so far. These repeated cancellations have significantly prolonged uncertainty for the affected candidates, who have been consistently seeking a fair resolution to secure their employment.

The 1158 Assistant Professor and Librarian Front, Punjab has expressed deep concern over this pattern of delay and has stated that, while it remains open to meaningful discussion, continued postponements will lead to intensified efforts and wider mobilization across Punjab to ensure their voices are heard.
