Why this petition matters

Started by Jack Daniels

AT THE BEGINNING OF AUGUST 2022 SOMEONE WHO WAS ONCE LIKE FAMILY TO ME HAD BEEN FOUND NEGLECTING ANIMALS TO THE POINT OF DEATH! THIS PERSON CONSIDERES THEMSELF A PROFESSIONAL TRAINER... THIS IS TRULY HORRIFFIC.

JUSTICE NEEDS TO BE SERVED, THIS PERSON SHOULD NEVER FOR AS LONG AS THEY LIVE, HAVE AN ANIMAL OF ANY SORT IN THEIR POSESSION. HOWEVER THATS A SLAP ON THE WRIST, THIS PERSON SHOULD BE CHARGED WITH SOME SORT OF TIME SERVED AND A FINE PER DEAD ANIMAL. ALTHOUGH FINES AND MINOR PUNNISHMENTS WILL NEVER SERVE JUSTICE FOR ALL THE ANIMALS WHOS LIVES WERE LOST. IT IS A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

PLEASE SEE THE NEWS REPORTS BELOW... THE REASON THE CASE WAS DROPPED IS BECAUSE THE COUNTY WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE AN ATTORNEY TO FIGHT ON THE BEHALF OF THE COUNTY AND DEAD ANIMALS. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED INSTEAD OF DROPPED. UNLESS THE COUNTY AND OKLAHOMA STATE ARE ALSO OKAY WITH ALL THESE DEAD ANIMALS TOO..

Pauls Valley police say 11 dogs dead, several animals rescued in animal abuse case

Pauls Valley, Okla. (KOKH) — Pauls Valley police say a group of people claiming to be dog trainers allowed 11 dogs to die after officers say they were locked in a shed in the heat without enough water.

Some of these dogs belonged to a rescue out of Fort Worth, TX called Saving Hope and the organization says they sent their dogs to the property to be trained before allowing them to be adopted.

Pauls Valley police were called to a property off Elizabeth to investigate an animal neglect case.

"We got a call that 11 or so dogs were dead," Pauls Valley police chief Mitch McGill said. "It was 201 Elizabeth. Officers got there and found the dead dogs outside the residence."

Court records show the animals didn't have enough water.

"It was extremely bad," McGill said. "Eleven dead animals in one shed and crates on top of crates."

Police say they took other animals from the property too. They are set to be relocated to a local shelter.

"We also took six other dogs, two cats, a snake, a lizard, and some chickens from the residence due to the fact they weren’t being cared for," McGill said.

Police reports show Meaghan Darling and Ryan Greene are facing animal neglect charges.

Other court documents list Megan Sprinkle and Saving Hope Rescue in this case too.

"They claim they work with a rescue out of Texas, which is why they had all those animals," McGill said.

Saving Hope Rescue says they sent at least five of their animals to the property to be trained before they could be available for adoption.

They emailed Fox 25 this statement from Chase Scott, PR and Events, the Professional Representation for Elite Clientele:

As a rescue that has saved over 6,000 dogs and cats we were devastated when we learned of the tragedy that occurred at the trainer's facility. We reached out for training so the rescues would be ready for a new life with loving families. Sadly, that opportunity no longer exists for these animals that were in care of the training facility. We will work with law enforcement to insure (sic) justice is achieved for these precious lives.

Darling and Greene do not own the home shown in our story, however police say it is the location where the animals were kept and died.

Court records show Darling and Greene are expected back in court August 10.
