At the premises of the Australian Embassy today, just about when I finished setting up my banner, a security guard along with a Policeman arrived from inside the building and asked me to leave.
Although I specifically asked them to inform the Australian Embassy of my Presence there and of my requests for speaking with a representative from the Embassy, but they didn’t seem to care about what I said and rather than informing the Australian Embassy they contacted the Police and were waiting for them to arrive and take me away.
Whereas my dire situation in Greece still remains unresolved and the UNHCR still continues to dodge the responsibility, I see no other choice in front of me but to go from Embassy to Embassy and seek help. This is in addition to the fat that UNHCR also once told me in 2017, that if any country (i.e. Canada, U.S. OR Australia) offers me Asylum OR a Resettlement place, they would have no reason to keep me here Hostage, hinder my life and torture me on a daily basis.
So again, today I was hoping to see a representative from the Australian Embassy in search for a compassionate response to my dire situation. Be it offering tangible assistance for my Resettlement through UNHCR OR granting me entry to Australia and thereby allowing me to seek Asylum/Protection there upon arrival.
However same as all my recent visits there, I was not able to see anybody from the Australian Embassy and as the Police arrived, it didn’t take long for them to forcibly confiscate my phone; with which I was recording whatever was happening there; and obviously take me to the Police Station afterwards.
As they took my phone and realizing I wasn’t able to record anymore, they tried to intimidate me, but failed. However, while I was being escorted and on our way to the Police car about 20-meters away, the Policeman from the building called me several times ‘’Do not come back here again’’. I replied ‘’Do not kill Refugees’’.
A few minutes later, I found myself at the Syntagma Police Station where they held in custody for several hours, probably 3-hours OR so before I was being let go again.
I have been undocumented ever since March 19th, 2018, and now without shelter, without food and without money. In fact, I have been without shelter since after the destruction of my fifth shelter at the doorsteps of the UNHCR and also before undergoing my second Hunger Strike (73-days long) almost the whole summer last years which was carried out on the cracked pavement and in the nasty and sickening dust.
From the looks of it, it seems they want to force me into taking another Hunger Strike and eventually starve me to death.
Due to health complications from the last summer’s Hunger Strike (73-days long) I am trying to the best of my ability to avoid another Hunger Strike. But even in spite of that, I am still skipping two meals a day only to survive.
I fear for my life, my safety and well-being.
Please spread the word and show that you care and not indifferent to what is happening here. So, the UNHCR can come to its senses and take urgent action for resolving my dire situation and referring my case for Resettlement in another country.
