Canada currently has no national bird, and I think that a First Nations symbol being an official national symbol would be a great leap forward for indigenous people. The US and México use eagles as their national birds, so Canada should likewise use a powerful bird of prey. The Thunderbird is an important part of Canadian mythology, and would make a great patriotic symbol for the Canadian people.
