Children should be with their mothers at least half the time. Especially if mother is able to provide basic housing and food. No child and mother should be begging to be with each other from an emotionally abusive father.

I am a single mom who was in an emotionally abusive relationship with the father of my child. I did not realize that in was in a psychologically abusive relationship. You don't know what you don't know. It was different than my past relationship and different from my friends. It was on and off, and after about 5 yrs, we got pregnant. During the pregnancy he grew to be more verbally and emotionally abusive and threatened my safety and harassed me constantly. 

Our court system fail women and children all the time. They assign minor's counsel and therapist that do not work in the best interest of our children. When mothers/victims report an ongoing problem, their mentality is questioned. I've been going through the court system for 7 years. I've seen the judge not enforce his orders every time her dad chose not to follow orders.

I am a hard working mom who went through my whole pregnancy without the father's support. My child misses me and wants to be with me more times than she wants to be with her dad. She's been saying this since she was 5. We should have laws in place that protect women/survivors of emotionally abusive relationships from ever losing more than 50% of their custodial time. No child should have to grow up wishing to be with their mothers. This should be their right.
