The Walton County DFCS took 2 young children out of a loving home where they were very well cared for and had plenty of food, clothing and everything that they ever needed or wanted.  The young children's mother had asked their grandmother to care for them until she could get back on her feet and the 2 young boys were ripped away from their family and placed with a foster family on December 9th 2019.  The children had to be away from their family for the holidays and this is very traumatizing for a 1 and 3 year old to go through.

The Walton County DFCS office made false allegations to Judge Rhymer on December 9, 2019 to have the children removed and this was even brought up in court on December 12, 2019 when we had the first court hearing and the children were still not allowed to return home to their grandmother.  There have been several lies from Walton County DFCS and something needs to be done to get the children returned home where they belong.  Walton County DFCS office even admitted in Court to the Judge that they had 2 calls last July from someone stating that the 2 young children were living in a place where there was no running water or power and that they did nothing to check out those allegations.  (COME ON DFCS WHAT ARE YOU DOING... THOSE ARE SOME PRETTY SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS TO NOT CHECK INTO...) DFCS will remove kids from a house where there is everything the kids need and want but won't check into some serious allegations.  Something is wrong with that picture and makes no sense at all.

On Thursday January 2, 2020 when we had a meeting with the Walton County DFCS case workers and the administrator we were told that the oldest child had been having nightmares every night since this happened.  The mother told the case worker as well as the administrator that she wanted to turn over permanent custody to the children's maternal grandmother and they told her that she didn't have the right to do that anymore because the state now has custody of the children.

We are hoping to get lots and lots of signatures on this petition and have the judge order Walton County DFCS to return the children to their grandmother where they belong and drop this whole matter.
