Allow This 11 Year Old To Stay With Her Mother

Sookie is an emotionally mature 11 years old, yet has repeatedly expressed the fact that she will take her own life if forced to live with her father. Utah Family Court is not listening to Sookie. Instead, they are threatening Sookie’s mother with jail time if she does not force her child to go.
Evidence from therapists and other professionals has been presented to the court on several occasions and it has been ignored.
A CPS case, which was opened by Sookie's therapist, was closed without even speaking to Sookie concerning the allegations against her father.
Sookie’s mother has been Sookie’s primary caregiver her entire life. Sookie has lived with her mother her entire life. Sookie’s mother has no criminal charges and there are no issues with drug/alcohol. Sookie’s mother simply wants what is best for her daughter that has lived with her since birth. The only charge against the mother is parental alienation. Click here to watch the video about the misuse of this term and the damage it's causing in family court.
Please sign this petition so that the courts consider Sookie’s rights, her safety and well-being and her preference to remain with the only primary caregiver she has ever known.
This is not just Sookie's story. There is a crisis in the family court system. We need to come together as a society to make child safety and well-being the top priority in custody cases. Children’s rights are human rights.
The Crisis: Protective Mothers are losing their children to the abusers and domestic violence perpetrators at alarming rates. The research and solutions are available. We simply need more people to get involved in evolving this system. Every year 58,000 children in the U.S. are being ordered into unprotected visitation with danger abusers causing unnecessary Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs - The Center for Disease Control and Kaiser Permanente). This can be prevented. The legal system can actually help children and take meaningful steps to address Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Right now, they are working off of guidelines developed in the 1980’s and children are being placed in the custody of abusers and domestic violence perpetrators at alarming rates. Even more alarming is that more and more protective mothers are being punished by the courts for protecting children, and are losing them completely to abusers.
Please sign the petition to help Sookie. Then raise your awareness to help us evolve the family court system with new evidence-based policy that ensures children's safety and well-being are the TOP PRIORITY in all custody cases.
