For over 40 days, we have watched in horror as thousands of bombs have been dropped on the Palestinian people. As of Nov. 17, Over 11,000 lives have been lost at the hands of the IDF, including thousands of innocent children. More than 1.5 million Palestinians have been displaced from their homes, with over 41,000 housing units destroyed (source: OCHA). Israel has committed heinous war crimes, mostly against civilians, by targeting schools, hospitals, and refugee camps.

We call upon our representative - Josh Harder - to take immediate action. As his constituents, we demand that he use his influence in Congress to call for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the Israeli siege on Gaza.

The situation is dire and requires urgent attention. The ongoing conflict has resulted in a humanitarian crisis with severe shortages of food, water, and medical supplies. The siege has left Palestinians starving with no place to go. There is no safe place in Gaza, and its food system has been stretched to its breaking point. Not only is this affecting the physical health of Palestinians; this siege and bombardment have led to a toxic level of stress that has had a clear impact on Palestinians' psychosocial well-being, especially that of children. It is our moral duty to call for an end to these blatant violations of international humanitarian law, not just as citizens of the 9th district or of California but as global citizens who believe in human rights and justice for all people, regardless of their race or religion.
