The Issue

Since the start of the massacre in Gaza strip on Tuesday July 8, 2014, by israeli military machine, the death toll and casualties continue to rise  as Israeli missiles rain down on Gaza, killing more than 100 and injuring more than 670 Palestinians.

The civilian victims include children, women, and 8 members of one family.  Additionally, 500 Palestinians, mostly civilians, were wounded – this number includes. The U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said, “The deteriorating situation is leading to a downward spiral which could quickly get beyond anyone’s control.”

In the meantime, while the masssacre on Gaza intensifies, FIFA is expecting World Cup 2014 to be the 'most watched TV event ever.' If this is the case, more than 909.6 million television viewers worldwide will tune into the Final between Germany and Argentina this Sunday.

The escalating Israeli offensive on Gaza is benefiting from the world’s current distraction with the World Cup. Please show your support for the victims of the offensive and show a strong message to worldwide decision makers by:

- Refusing to watch the World Cup final on Sunday: TV rights and marketing deals is estimated to raise around $4 billion for the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). BeIN Sports, based in Qatar, holding a monopoly on broadcast rights and charging an additional fee to their subscribers to watch the games, is also among those cashing in on the World Cup.  A boycott of viewers to impact revenue would send a strong message to corporate wallets.

- Tweeting and posting about the situation throughout the World Cup final on Sunday in order to counteract the anticipated record numbers of Tweets and Facebook posts on the game.
