Tomorrow morning, Concerned Neighbors of Multnomah Village and Tree Emergency Response Team will hold a memorial for the beautifully forested grove of mature Douglas Fir trees, including a 150-year-old “Mother Tree” that will be cut down by Renaissance Homes this week, likely starting tomorrow.
Only one small home has been on this 10,000 square foot property for more than six decades. Renaissance homes plans to cut down over a dozen trees including cutting the largest tree, the “Mother Tree.” Unfortunately, their development of two 3,000 sq. ft. homes does not include preserving this habitat or leaving the largest “Mother Tree” standing alongside the property’s edge.
To honor and celebrate the majestic Mother Tree and her fir family, please join us Wednesday morning, September 8th at 8:30 am.
