After 10 years, $345 billion, and over 100,000 Americans still deployed today – enough is enough. It’s time to bring our troops home from Afghanistan.
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand has put forth legislation that calls for a strategic plan that would begin the withdrawal of American combat forces from Afghanistan by July 1, 2011 with an end date by 2014.
By calling for the total transfer of security responsibility to Afghan forces by 2014, Senator Gillibrand’s Safe and Responsible Redeployment of United State Combat Forces from Afghanistan Act would allow the United States to focus more time on addressing other global security threats.
The plan would also implement a realistic non-combat commitment to Afghanistan to ensure the progress of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts and civilian projects.
We need a clear strategy to get out of Afghanistan – and we need one now. Too many lives have been sacrificed and too many billions have been spent to not take action today.
Sign today and join Senator Gillibrand in telling Congress we cannot – and will not – stand for endless war.
I add my voice to Senator Gillibrand’s call for a strategic plan that would begin the withdrawal of American combat forces from Afghanistan by July 1, 2011.
It’s time to bring our troops home from Afghanistan.
