1 - The Commissioner of a conference should not have an affiliation with, or graduated from, a member school.

2 - The Chancellor, Holden Thrope, at the school in which Mr. Swofford graduated from and was also Athletic Director at, publicly stated that Mr. Swofford is a "Tar Heel", when ask why UNC felt it was important for Mr. Swofford to attend UNC's meeting with the NCAA Committee on Infractions regarding the scandal surrounding their football program for the last 2+ years, of which, remains unresolved.

3 - Although Mr. Swofford chooses to not publicly address, there are claims that when Clemson was punished by the NCAA back in the early 80's, Mr. Swofford pushed to have the ACC impose additional penalties.

4 - Then we have the treatment of the FSU soccer team when they decided to leave a few starters out of the ACC tournament, in an effort to have them rested for an NCAA title run. In the end, the Commissioner: 1) Suspended the FSU coach for 1 game, 2) Removed FSU's expense reimbursement for the ACCT($15,000), 3) Fined FSU $25,000, 4) A letter of reprimand to the FSU Athletic Director and Women's Soccer Head Coach, 5) Demanded a letter of apology from FSU. Yet, this same guy has remained totally silent with regards to the 9 MAJOR VIOLATIONS the NCAA has pegged on his alma mater. With the biggest of those violations directed at academic dishonesty, an Assistant Head Coach being on the payroll of a NFL agent and a Head Coach that refuses to release phone records.

5 - Due to the latest ACC expansion which will bring in Syracuse and Pittsburgh, Mr. Swofford has implemented a scheduling model for ACC basketball that will eliminate the historic home and home series between rivals UNC and NC State.

6 - Consider this fact, since John Swofford became ACC Commissioner UNC and Duke have won 14 of the last 15 ACC basketball championships. In the 15 years prior, UNC and Duke won 7 of 15. Coincidence?

7 - Under his watch, many of the ACC member institutions have gotten into trouble with the NCAA. In addition to his own alma mater currently under investigation, the Miami football program is also under investigation, FSU has received sanctions and GT was stripped of a conference football crown, yet he continues to preach "Integrity" is what the ACC is about.

8 - In a move of epic proportions, the Head Coach of his basketball alma mater decided to leave the court before the game had finished, citing "team safety", yet that coach left 5 players to fend for themselves. To my knowledge, the Commissioner has never commented on this, yet, as discussed in item #4, he hands down penalties for one of the member institutions leaving a few players behind for a soccer tournament.
