Petition Closed

Grandmothers who work at Rite Aid are in a major battle against their employer. They are fighting hundreds of violations of federal law and a demand by management that they surrender their union health care coverage.

It's outrageous and hypocritical that a company in the health care business is attempting to deprive its own employees of affordable health care!   Rite Aid even admits that it can afford the existing health care benefits and its main competitor in northeast Ohio (CVS) has already agreed to a contract that is essentially identical to the one sought by the grandmothers.

Sign the petition to help convince top Rite Aid managers to respect employees and negotiate a fair contract with affordable and comprehensive health care coverage.

Letter to
John Standley, President and CEO, Rite Aid Corp. John Standley
It's outrageous and hypocritical that a company in the health care business is attempting to deprive its own employees of affordable health care!

Rite Aid can afford existing health care benefits, and your main competitor in northeast Ohio (CVS) has already agreed to a contract that is essentially identical to the one sought by Local 880 members.

We don't need to remind you that your customers nationwide have many choices about where to shop. That's why we are signing this petition. We want you and all Rite Aid managers to respect your union represented employees, and to negotiate fair contracts that preserve their existing health care coverage.

Your company's reputation and our drugstore dollars are at stake!

Sincerely,
