On May 5, 2001, the episode of SpongeBob called "Life of Crime" aired. In this episode, SpongeBob feels guilty over stealing a balloon. When he turns himself in to the police, much to his surprise, he is told that it is National Free Balloon Day. Why should the citizens of Bikini Bottom get to celebrate this holiday while the citizens of the United States can not? This petition is to start a National Free Balloon Day in the United States. It would take place every year on May 5th and all balloons would be free.
