The residents of St. George strongly object to the warehouse project by Panattoni Development Co. Canada that includes two buildings covering 120,000 square metres on a 36-hectare property at 282A Highway 5. The town already has to listen to the double dump trucks that speed through town every morning before sunrise, and this is maybe 2 or 3 trucks. When people live in a small town they do so for varying reasons, it's safer for children and pets, it's quaint and friendly, and it's quiet. Yes people would like more job opportunities in their community, but not at the cost of their town. We do not want to become another Paris "Canada's prettiest town" never again. Any new developement should be in line with the existing esthetic, and reflect the resident's wants and needs. If we wanted to live in Brantford we would have move to Brantford. As elected representives you are supposed to be the voice the people that reside here  not the developers.If this kind of project goes through it will make St george an undesirable place to live and decrease our property value.
