As every day goes by we learn more and more about the spread of the coronavirus in New York. So far, other schools across the state have closed, but not us. The CUNY schools are commuter schools. Thousands of students take public transportation every day to get to these schools. Commuting leads to busy train rides, bus rides and etc, that could put a student's life at risk. After this, students are in school unsure if they carry the virus, if others carry the virus and if somehow they could spread the virus. It is wrong to put the health of CUNY students at risk. Not only are the students at risk but so are their families and friends.

The students of CUNY do not feel safe nor comfortable attending classes due to the Coronavirus. Until everything is under control, CUNY students want their face-to-face classes canceled. These canceled classes could be done online or until further notice. There are people at CUNY with compromised immune systems who could fall victim to this virus. Students do not want to risk their lives attending class and we feel that it is right to ask of this.
