Permanent Residency for Haitians living in the U.S.
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!
On November 22nd, 2017, one day before Thanksgiving, approximately 50,000 US-based Haitians will be deported to Haiti.
Haitians living in the U.S. by or before January 18th, 2011 were given temporary protection status and an extension on the condition that Haiti was inhospitable.
Two devastating hurricanes, and one ongoing cholera outbreak later, some 60,000 Haitians are displaced from their homes while they remain in camps.
If permanent residency is not given, Haitians in America will live in the constant fear and the inevitable reality of being sent back to an island with a deficient infrastructure and no real means to thrive.
My older cousin is one of those Haitians facing deportation. Since he's set foot on U.S. soil, he's found a job and has been a contributing member of society.
Some of you have loved ones facing this imminent predicament. Let's unite and fight for a people who deserve an opportunity to embrace the American dream.
Please sign, share this petition so permanent residency can be granted to Haitians in the US with TPS status.
