This petition demands a far-left MPP and a far-left city councillor resign for participating in a hate crime hoax.

Joel Harden, MPP for Ottawa Centre, is being branded as Canada's Jussie Smollett after falsely claiming he was punched in the face during a protest against gender ideology in Ottawa.

Several media outlets ran with the story. Yahoo News published the MPP's false claims, but updated the article once new evidence was presented.

Journalist Corné van Hoepen wrote:

Ottawa Centre MPP Joel Harden is facing public scrutiny after he claimed that he was punched in the face by an anti-'gender ideology' activist at a rally on Friday.

After reports of the alleged assault circulated on social media, video footage captured at the rally appears to show a megaphone striking Harden's face at the same place where he claimed he was allegedly punched.

After Harden's false claims were exposed, he was branded as "Jussie Smollett" by Rebel News publisher Ezra Levant.

City councillor Ariel Troster is also facing backlash for falsely claiming that she witnessed the attack. In response to the backlash, Troster locked her account.

This petition demands both Joel Harden and Ariel Troster resign from their positions.
