Equal Rights for people in the United States

The Issue

Amy Coney Barret is likely to make the United States go backwards in the work that had been done to grant freedoms to people. We all deserve equality, but Barret will not give that to the American people. There needs to be a way to go back on the decision, in which she was put as a supreme court judge just hours ago. There is no justice in the idea that a man we call a president has the ability to choose a new judge just days before an election, when we had a president that genuinely cared about people, and yet was denied the ability of selecting a new judge, 11 months away from the next election. If Obama was denied almost a year out, due to it being too close to the next election period, then why should Trump had been allowed? This only proves how this country does not want to go forward, but stay in the past. As Trump can do as he wants as a rich, white man. Why should people suffer because of such prejudice this country has. Trump has shown he lacks compassion for any living being, and then selected someone who may not be as cold hearted as Trump, but certainly wants to take basic human rights away from people, due to them being different. I fear how Barret may cause negative changes in the lgbtq+ community, women's productive rights, and healthcare. She is too conservative for this country. We need someone that believes everyone should be treated equal. That marriage is a right for all. That everyone deserves to be seen by a doctor regardless of preexisting conditions. As someone who has preexisting conditions and as a child got denied time after time, when I needed help, I thank Obama everyday for helping me to get seen and get the help I needed. No child or adult needs to have to be denied help. Healthcare is a basic human right, and should be treated as such. The ability to choose to have a child is the decision of the individual. Someone should not be told it is against God to receive in vitro fertilization, or to have an abortion. That is their body, that is their right. Let people have the right to their own bodies. They are not owned by anyone, so why should they be told yes or no, based on religious principle. Principle that an individual may not follow. As not everyone is Christian, so why should one religion be forced upon millions, when there are so many religions in the world to recognize.

With this all I ask for equality to be given to people, that nobody should be told no, based on how they look, their health, their reproductive choices, or whom they want to marry. Please, help us find a way to remove Barret, and put someone that will care to keep those basic human rights, as rights for us to have in our country.
