I am a female bull rider, and back in March/April I called asking if NHSRA accepted female bull riders, and I do say the response I got in return, despite being very polite in asking, was in a rude tone of voice telling me female bull riders were not accepted. I understand that it is a dangerous sport, but it is 2015. The amount of females riding bulls is only growing, and I know tons of girls throughout the US, and even Australia, that are bull riders. All of them being my age and a couple older. It is my understanding that NHSRA is for helping young people achieve and work towards their rodeo dreams and creating an environment for everyone to compete with people their age. How are you achieving some of this while not allowing everyone to participate? Allowing girls to compete will not only expand the sport and association, but it would draw more attention and more people to it. I know for myself, being a female bull rider at a rodeo, it draws a lot of attention and has people on edge of their seats. Behind the chutes, I get as much respect as anyone else would. I love the sport with all my heart and I know that I am not the only girl seeking change. Thank you for your time!
