Please join the Markham Arts Council in petitioning Markham City Council to financially support the establishment/construction and/or renovation of existing space, for the purposes of an Arts & Culture Centre in the City of Markham.

A designated Arts & Culture Centre will foster, promote, and provide creative space for the education, creation, exhibition and/or performance of all forms of Artistic & Cultural activities for emerging and professional artists, community groups and citizens living and/or working in the City of Markham.

An Arts & Culture Centre will be dedicated to creating a community for artists & people who love art-where we can engage in dialogue, exchange and collaboration. A space where artists can rent/use studios/incubators to create their latest masterpieces, where we can hold discussions & classes, where we can find support & solidarity. It would be an intersection of genres- from music to visual arts- from poetry to performance- from multimedia to dance- & everything in between.

The demand is there, now we need to make it a reality.
