As any bereaved parent knows, the discovery of a long-forgotten photograph is a small balm to the heart. When the ability to create new memories is taken from us, we treat these precious records with reverence, delight, and longing.

This photo encapsulates Jessie perfectly – her arm protectively encircling the body of her baby cousin, and her hand offering a gentle, reassuring caress. Jess was always kind and gentle, and she remained so – always.

We had two potential launch dates for Jess’s Rule in July. We are now aiming for late August. Behind the scenes, teams of people from DHSC, NHS England, the government, and the RCGP are working hard to make this a reality.

As you know, it is so important that Jess’s Rule – “Three Strikes and We Rethink” – is implemented appropriately. We want this guidance to be impactful, lasting, and, most importantly, to save lives. This is the future: Jess’s legacy, and a legacy for all those diagnosed too late.

I had the opportunity to record a speech for the inaugural conference for C the Signs. C the Signs is a British AI technology company focused on early cancer detection. Approximately one quarter of all GP practices in England and Wales use this platform.

Dr Bea Bakshi, co-founder of C the Signs, sent this positive message:
