Improved STI prevention methods at DU

The Issue

STI's are a big problem on college campuses. During the COVID-19 pandemic, STI prevention has taken a backseat. That doesn't mean its no longer an issue. 1 in 5 students we polled reported that they have either contracted an STI at DU or know someone who has. Thats an alarmingly high number of students. Sexual health is something thats often overlooked because it's uncomfortable to talk about. Its time to get the conversation started, and bring real change to DU!

We want to see:

  • Condoms available in every residence hall, as well as at the general stores
  • Affordable testing for STI's
  • Discreet billing for STI tests
  • More inclusive Sex ED (ie: intercourse between people of the same sex)
  • Partner notification service (possibly through the Everbridge app)

Sexual health has been overlooked for far too long. By signing this petition, you are helping to make our DU community a safer, healthier, and more inclusive place.
