Recently I bought Zimecterin Gold, and gave a tube to my gelding last night.  After an hour, when I fed him his hay, I noticed that his left lower lip was swollen and the skin was starting to slough off.  He now has burns in his mouth.  I am mortified that I not only caused my horses suffering, but that he may also suffer from internal bleeding and possible death in the weeks to come.

I was unaware of the dangers of this medicine, and also of the dangers of Quest dewormer.  There are many same complaints against these drugs with many deaths reported.  Merial company knows of the complaints and dangers, yet refuses to do anything to stop the needless suffering of our animals.  All they will offer is the payment of vet bills.

The only warning on the label states "In horses, there have been rare reports of swelling and irritation of the mouth, lips and tongue following administration of ZIMECTERIN Gold. These reactions have been transitory in nature". There is no mention of burns and ulcers.  Help us get awareness spread, and get this drug off the market.
