Growing Concern in Jefferson Parish Schools.

Good evening everyone,

School district's all across the country have made the decision in recent days to switch to full virtual learning due to the progression of Covid-19. As we all know, an additional and alarming two thousand more cases were reported across the state of Louisiana. Many of these cases being recorded are in New Orleans and Jefferson.

Despite the incredible work of teachers, support staff and school leaders, the fact of the matter is that a virus cannot be out planned and out maneuvered. How many more of our kids and colleagues need to get sick before we act? For how long will our leaders continue to be reactionary?

This evening, we are asking you to email school board members- some of whom continue to not wear masks during school board meetings, and to contact the Superintendent and the President of the Jefferson Federation of Teachers. Health and safety during a time like this comes first. Stand for what you believe in. Make your voice heard.
