Jefferson at Dedham residents currently have vehicular access to the property via the President’s Way entrance by Costco, while the entrances to Rustcraft Road are closed. In recent years, we have observed a few challenges with this arrangement. First, the retail expansion at the Legacy Place area, while great for our Dedham community, increases transit time to and from the property through the Legacy Place area traffic. Second, occasionally local officials open the gates on Rustcraft Road, and some public traffic uses the apartment parking lot as if it were a public through road.

I support the proposed revision to traffic access to Jefferson at Dedham apartment community. The proposal includes permanently opening the entrances at Rustcraft Road and installing entrance gates at the President’s Way entrance. This will allow residents to use either the Rustcraft Road or Presidents Way entrances and deter public traffic through the apartment community.
