Budget recommendations for Jeffco’s 2017 – 2018 school year include cutting funding for two educators at The Jeffco Gifted and Talented Center at Wheat Ridge High School, effectively ending the program that has been serving GT learners since 2008.

• This is the only high school GT Center in the entire county, drawing students from all over the district.
• The center supports the social and emotional needs of students, enabling them to succeed academically.
• The GT Center is an irreplaceable asset that cannot be absorbed into other programs such as IB, AP, and Honors courses.

We respectfully request that the school board fully fund The Jeffco GT Center at Wheat Ridge High School. It is an invaluable school, community, and district resource.
