Amazon, Please Allow Customers to Choose Their Carrier

Amazon, Please Allow Customers to Choose Their Carrier
The Issue
As a group that experienced Amazon Prime during the time when it was reliable and hassle-free, it has been very hard to remain Prime members or regular Amazon customers after USPS became the dominant carrier for us.
Before we elected not to renew the service, we did our best to persuade USPS to stop giving us poor service; USPS has ignored our complaints. Therefore, we pleaded with Amazon to voice our complaints to USPS and we have seen no improvement in service.
Some of the complaints involve:
· Late delivery
· Lost packages
· Refusing to leave packages that state, “Carrier leave if no response” (causing people to drive up to 30+ miles to get Prime packages and/or wait in long lines at understaffed USPS facilities)
· Not honoring requests to override the “Carrier leave if no response “ endorsement
· Lies about delivery and circumstances preventing delivery
· Refusal of Carrier to ring door-bell/knock on door upon attempted package delivery
· Refusal of Carrier to provide door delivery to people with limited mobility
· Poor/inaccurate tracking details
· Poor customer service at the USPS facilities and with letter-carriers
What is even more shocking is the fact that an audit by the Office of Inspector General found that customers around the nation are dissatisfied with the postal service and USPS management does not care, even though it could be costing USPS approximately 300 million dollars in lost revenue in 2015; the report can be found by going here:

If USPS is ignoring customer complaints, Amazon’s complaints, and OIG findings, we feel as though the situation cannot be helped. Therefore, we would appreciate it if Amazon would allow customers to:
- Opt out of receiving packages through a specified carrier
- Choose their carrier.
Many customers are already cancelling Prime or leaving Amazon. However, I started this petition because I like Amazon and the service it once had. If Amazon is willing to allow customers to opt out of delivery via USPS and/or give customers a choice in their carrier, I’m sure you all will make a great deal of customers more loyal and happy.
