Jayden's Story.

Jayden O'Beirne is an overweight kid in our school. Walking down the halls, Jayden is ashamed of who he is. He gets called fat, left and right, and he's had enough of it. Since he started at Palmyra Area Senior High School (PASHS), he has faced poor treatment. He has been getting into trouble for outrageous reasons—such as standing up during lunch. He has been deemed as "Attention Seeking" by those like Mr. Daryl Reisinger, one of the two Assistant Principals. He has been called fat by people such as math teacher Mr. James Burd.
We students are concerned about Jayden's treatment. We demand immediate action to stop everyone from unfairly targeting Jayden and to hold accountable any person engaging in discriminatory behavior by making derogatory remarks regarding his weight, along with the weight of any student. Such behavior violates basic human decency and respect and goes against the values of integrity and kindness that our "top tier" school claims to uphold. Every student deserves to be treated with dignity and fairness, free from discrimination.
Therefore, we, the undersigned, call for the following actions seized:
Immediate intervention to cease the unfair targeting of Jayden O'Beirne by the Higher-ups and ensure his rights stay upheld.
Investigation into the behavior of the teacher(s) who has/have been making inappropriate comments about Jayden's weight.
We urge the school administration to take responsible and inclusive steps to address this matter and create a safe and tolerable environment for every student. Let us stand together in support of fairness, respect, and dignity for all—in the name of Jayden.
