Support Sno-King Ice Arenas - Signatures Needed
The Issue
We have assembled this petition with the signatures of parents, coaches, friends, families, athletes, employees, and of course, the management team of SKAHA (Sno-King Amateur Hockey Association).
We are a non-profit winter sports organization that is comprised of figure skating and hockey participants. With our inception in 1964, we are the largest youth hockey association and figure skating program in the PNW. Comprised amongst three facilities- Sno-King Kirkland, Sno-King Renton, and our newest facility, Sno-King Snoqualmie- our families and athletes help to make our community based sports organization one of the best!
During these most difficult times, it is our goal to continue to operate at limited capacity with full COVID compliance and intent. Our goal is to promote health and wellness in our community- but most importantly to help the children who have been so heavily impacted during the pandemic continue to be able to exercise. Our brand new arena in Snoqualmie that opened on Sept. 16th has been placed under tremendous strain due to the latest roll back.
It is our goal to continue to offer a safe and effective way for our families to stay both physically and mentally healthy and to provide work for our arena employees, staff, and arena coaches, many of which have families themselves to provide for. Please note behind these signatures come many hopes and dreams, fueled by athletes of all ages and abilities. Providing some semblance of normalcy during these trying times has always been our goal while keeping us all safe.
As a grassroots business we have the advantage of being able to adjust our day to day operations for the safety of our members, staff, and community. We are willing to meet any additional standards and continue the current protocols in place since our facility in Snoqualmie opened under the shadow of COVID.
We respectfully ask for leniency to continue to operate in a safe and pro-active way and open our doors as soon as we can. The adults and children that skate and play at Sno- King Ice Arenas look forward to your support, to be allowed to pursue their dreams, their health but most importantly their ability to exercise and have fun.
