January 3rd is  World Blockchain Day

Why?

We think Blockchain deserves to be recognized on its own. We chose January 3rd because  on January 3rd, 2009, Satoshi Nakamoto mined the first block of the Bitcoin blockchain, also known as Block 0 or the Genesis block. After having released the Bitcoin whitepaper a couple months prior, the mining of the first block marked the dawn of a new era: The age of Blockchain.

Blockchain is the 2nd generation of the Internet. For decades, we’ve had the Internet of Information. Now we’re getting the Internet of Value, powered by Blockchain. Blockchain will help us reshape the world of business and transform the old order of human affairs for the better.

How to celebrate World Blockchain Day?

Honor the Blockchain and all those who have been working hard to create and  maintain it on World Blockhain Day. Here are some ways to celebrate this day: Learning more about the history of the Blockchain; sending everyone you know a Happy World Blockchain Day message; having  a blockchain-only conversation, wearing your favorite Blockchain T-shirt, etc.

What can you do?

Sign the petition and your action will forever be remembered in the modern history of Blockchain! This petition for all people that consider themselves technologists, entrepreneurs, developers, traders, investors, or explorers, who have an interest in discovering Blockchain or just want to find out what this is all about.
