Hello, I make this petition as a student in the Public School Education System. This form of education is broken, outdated, and failing its students. The system has had little to no changes since the day it was made back in the 18th century during the factory Era. Children aren't being taught or being prepared for the world, they are being prepared to take orders like a factory worker. Kids aren't given the creative liberty to grow, communicate, or learn on there own in their own way. Each child is given the same amount of knowledge through the same methods when thats not how everyone's brains work. Children and teens need different styles or personalized styles of learning because everyone is not the same, this is what the system lacks to acknowledge. Through this petition I hope to catch the attention of Janice K. Jackson, the head director of CPS to either 1. Make changes within the system or 2. Talk to higher ups about normalizing Montessori schools, a type of system that does personalized learning for students where they can figure things for themselves instead of following the cookie cutter system public school use. To everyone helping my efforts thank you, this is alot to a student who is still trying to work through life.
