The movie franchise Alvin and the Chipmunks is widely regarded as a childhood banger across the globe. The movies consist of 3 chipmunks (Alvin, Theodore and Simon) who are constantly getting themselves into situations. The chipmunks were taken into care by a middle-aged, socially awkward man named Dave after he sees their hidden singing talent. The franchise has had great success in the younger audience, racking up 361.3 million USD in the first movie alone. Besides this, there is just one issue with the franchise (besides the annoying singing rats). The name!

Now you might be thinking, what's so wrong about the name "Alvin and the Chipmunks"? Well, the main issue is where Alvin is stated in the title. The title implies that Alvin is not in fact part of the chipmunks, but rather something else. It is said in the movie that all 3 of the chipmunks are brothers, so naturally, you would assume that they would be generalised as equals in the title, right? Wrong. Alvin's name is and is written separately and in doing so, Alvin is deemed superior to the other chipmunks, Simon and Theodore. This is why we strongly believe that the title of the franchise should be changed to "Dave and the Chipmunks", identifying the adequate separation of Dave to the chipmunks, instead of Alvin.

Due to these reasons, we strongly recommend that Bagdasarian Productions, the creators of said franchise, rename it to "Dave and the Chipmunks".
