Early in February, Genervon will be meeting with the FDA to discuss results of their recent Phase 2 trial in ALS and will ask for accelerated conditional approval for their drug called GM6. This drug has proven to be very safe and well tolerated in trials for ALS and other neurodegenerative diseases. The trial data also strongly suggest that GM6 would be of great benefit to those currently diagnosed with ALS. Without this conditional approval, a traditional Phase 3 trial would have to be initiated and tens of thousands of patients with ALS would therefore not survive to see this drug reach market. The ALSA Leadership Team has promised to be an advocate for all ALS patients, not any other parties, interests, or stakeholders.
