This is a post from Nick on our other GM6 Petition. Please take 10 minutes and help us.
"If you do one thing this weekend for the GM6 cause, please take a few minutes to email at least one senator on this updated “U.S. Senate HELP Committee” list, with easy links to the senators email. We need the support of 12 senators in order to make an impact at the FDA.
This is an updated list of U.S. Senators who sit on The Health, Education, Labor, & Pension Committee, which works directly with the FDA.
Notes:
1) I’m going to send these “email a senator” requests out periodically. Don’t get frustrated. I’m just trying to contact all the people who are new to signing our petition.
2) If you’re non-U.S citizen:
Most of the senators' contact forms require the sender to have a U.S. residential address. But, you can email the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research @ DRUGINFO@fda.hhs.gov.
3) If you are a U.S. citizen, I recommend reaching out to your U.S. Senator first (if they are on the list). If your U.S. Senator isn’t there, then they do not sit on the HELP Committee. Please email the top ranking senators (TN-Lamar Alexander and WA-Patty Murray). Heck, email the entire list if they you want to.
Everyone in every country can email the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER). Again, the CDER email is: DRUGINFO@fda.hhs.gov.
(The CDER responded to my email so I know they’re reading them).
Thanks for your continued help,
Nick

FDA Conditional Approval of Genervon GM6
Dear _________:
I am writing you to ask for your help getting people with ALS a new medicine.
There is a small company called Genervon who will be meeting with the FDA early in February about their phase 2a trial drug for ALS called "GM6" (a.k.a. "GM604"). I understand they will be asking for conditional approval of this drug with post-marketing surveillance.
As you are probably aware, ALS is a devastating neurological illness that affects people all around the world and once diagnosed, people with ALS usually have 2-5 to live as their bodies slowly become paralyzed and they suffocate from not being able to breath.
This trial drug has shown to be safe and effective in decreasing the rate of ALS progression. It’s is the best result to come of any drug trial for ALS in the past 20 years. People all around the world are gently urging the FDA to act through a sense of compassion to get this drug to people with ALS right now. A phase 3 trial could take up to three years and with a prognosis of 2-5 years, people currently diagnosed with ALS can not wait.
We have a petition going at Change.org. Please read the comments from people who need this drug and from the general population who empathize with what they are going through.
