There is a small company (Genervon) who will be meeting with the FDA early in February about their trial drug for ALS called GM6 (a.k.a. GM604). I understand they will be asking for conditional approval of this drug with post-marketing surveillance. As you are probably aware, ALS is a devastating neurological illness that affects people all around the world and once diagnosed, people with ALS usually have 2-5 to live as their bodies slowly become paralyzed and they suffocate from not being able to breath. This trial drug has shown to be safe and decrease the rate of ALS progression. It’s is the best result to come of any drug trial for ALS in the past 20 years. People all around the world are gently urging the FDA to act through a sense of compassion to get this drug to people with ALS right now. They don’t have the time to wait for another drug trial.
