The Issue
Its been more than 2 months since I first requested for proper action on the Etihad Airways Manchester Airport Staff members and to send my hand luggage to my home which was taken from me in worst way possible(like a mob who threatens to do anything by their body language and harsh gestures) just before I boarded the flight to India.Still they could not solve my problem.#SayNoToEtihadAirways
This is Raj Doddi,I am a Student and a fellow airline passenger like millions of you ,who travel to their home country after long time for lovely family reunion.
When I booked flight with Etihad Airways to travel on 14th December,2014 to India,I was quite happy to know that I was going to see my lovely family soon and will spend quality time with them forging sweet memories. All that was going to shatter very soon!
My worst day was on 14th December,2014, I cannot find words to describe that day,I can say that it was an extremely painful and intimidating experience which is going to stay with me forever,all thanks to Etihad Airways Staff!
When I was about to board the flight,the Etihad Airways staff stopped me by giving the reason that my hand luggage was over weight and they threatened me to pay £600 for the extra luggage!!! (my full return journey costed me £372.10) or they will offload me and my checked in luggage and I was told to do a new booking.I felt that was ridiculous.
They then intimidated me like a mob and did not bother to reason with me to sort this out quickly.They made a situation where you can have only two options,get in or get out,I think it was their clear message.My hand luggage contained items that were very personal to me like my Graduation Photos at the University and many more which I earned in the UK.They are invaluable to me.
Then they called one of the airport staff and he bought a bin bag,by seeing this,it sent shivers through my spine,I politely requested Etihad Staff to at least transfer my bag to Baggage Claim Section so that my friends can collect it,they blatantly refused by giving most ridiculous reasons possible and made me throw all my hand luggage items in bin bag.I was devastated and very upset.
Then I took a strong decision to make my case with Etihad Airways management.I sent the email to them on 19th December,2014 through Etihad Airways website detailing my ordeal.On 5th January they asked me to send additional details needed which I sent them the same day.But still now,there is no response from them.I requested an update on my case as soon as possible by email last week again by using mail tracking software,and can confirm that they opened my Email twice (at the time of posting this petition).As usual,no response from them.
I request everyone to know that I am quite devastated and quite upset by this rude and unacceptable behavior by Etihad Airways and demand proper action on the Etihad Airways staff who were involved throughout my ordeal on that day 14th December 2014 and want my invaluable baggage to be sent to my home.
What would have been memorable holiday became a catastrophic memory since it had adverse effect on my life.
