We, the residents of James Creek, petition the Property Manager of the James Creek HOA and The Management Group Associates to immediately open the James Creek Pool with proper regulation and supervision to ensure that appropriate physical distancing is maintained. 

With local regulations allowing for the opening of pools with decreased capacity, many other pools in our area have since re-opened for both recreation and exercise. We have a fully funded HOA that includes pool maintenance and staffing, as well as precedent set by other local pools on how to handle reservations and decreased capacity. There is no reason that the James Creek Pool should not be opened immediately with modifications to allow for physical distancing. 

With temperatures soaring, children and adults stuck at home, the pool is a necessary source of mental and physical health. There are many ways to ensure the pool is opened safely. Some to consider:

• Limiting the number of people at the pool to 50% capacity
• Limiting usage to 2 1/2 hour time blocks to allow all residents the opportunity to enjoy the pool with time to clean common areas in between
• Have an electronic signup sheet such as sign up genius for scheduling the desired time block for your family. (limited to one session a day)
• Residents only – No guests
• Closing the bathrooms or have the HOA supply disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer in the bathroom
• Recommend wearing a mask when not in the water. Optional
• Bring your own chairs
• Recommend adult-only hours (2 hours a day – once in the morning, once late evening)
