Only permit the sale of silent fireworks

The Issue

I call on the MP's of the United Kingdom to ban the sale of all fireworks for private use unless they are silent.

As a nation of animal lovers each year our best friends, cats, dogs, rabbits and other pets who are members of the family, are exposed to a number of nights of extreme fear, anguish and upset as people let fireworks off from their properties.

These furry members of the family, who can't understand that fireworks pose no threat to them, don't fully understand our reasoning with them whilst trying to pacify them, are exposed to loud bangs and screaming noises with every firework that is let off which greatly upsets, causes great distress and in extreme cases even death to our beloved pets.

By banning the sale of loud fireworks and only permitting the sale of silent fireworks, which would still enable those letting them off enjoy and appreciate its illumination, we would help to reduce the anguish and fear experienced to these poor animals and allow the pet's owners peace of mind.
