Bring Jack White and his Boarding House Reach tour to Philadelphia!

The Issue

There is no doubt about it. Jack White is one of the most prolific musicians of all-time and one of the most raw, honest and rock-n'-rolling songwriters in modern history. What Jack produces on stage, he expects back from the audience as they've always "told him what to do."

On the eve of the release of his most recent work (Boarding House Reach), I reflect on the transformative experience I had at his face-melting and historic set at Bonnaroo Music & Art Festival in 2014. Having witnessed and participated in one of the most powerful artistic experience of my life, and later consuming the catalogue of a master at work, I am eager to have my second round live. Being a New York City resident, that won't be so hard for me this summer. However my friends and music-loving friends from my hometown of Philadelphia (just 100 miles south), are "bummed" that Mr. White has left the historic city off his itinerary in his next outing.

Research has led me to find that the last time Jack White played Philly with The White Stripes was at "The Troc" in 2002, later at the "then-named" Tweeter Center across the river in Camden in 2003, House of Blues in Atlantic city in 2005; and finally in Philly once again with the The Raconteurs in 2006 at the "now-demolished" Wachovia Spectrum. There may have been a show nearby in Wilmington, DE in 2007, but 2006 was the last time Philadelphians were able to be baptized by the traveling musical ministry of Mr. White and his band (now out with his 3rd solo album). 12 years is a mighty long time for an excellent artist eager to play for passionate people everywhere. I won't begin to speculate, but it seems as though we may not have showed as much "brotherly love" as he demanded.

It is 2018. Jack White III is still breaking boundaries (riding a yellow and black Third Man rocket headed for "Ice Station Zebra"), and I believe it is time the city invites him back for another chance to play. Please sign the petition to "Ask Jack" back to dance in Philadelphia for his current tour. Consider this an open invitation back to play for my friends and your fans for a chance at our redemption, Mr. White...

LET'S SHAKE HANDS!

PS: As a young creative trying to develop my own independent production company, I will gladly assist Mr. White and his company Third Man Records in the production/presentation/organization of this event (and ensure that only "real fans and real humans" are present for "this soon-to-be" historic evening in Philadelphia.
