SUPPORT MEDICINAL CANNABIS ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT CENTER IN UPPER PITTSGROVE TWSP.

SUPPORT MEDICINAL CANNABIS ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT CENTER IN UPPER PITTSGROVE TWSP.

The Issue

  • 30 PLUS JOBS TO LOCAL RESIDENTS TO START
  • $1.5 MILLION + IN INITIAL EMPLOYEE SALARIES, WITH BENEFITS
  • INCREASED TWSP TAX REVENUE OF $25,000 +
  • 10 % NET PROFIT FROM NEW JERSEY OPTIONS FOR WELLNESS, GOING BACK TO RESIDENTS FOR SCHOOLS, DRUG PREVENTION EDUCATION, HOSPITALS, FIRE, POLICE AND EMT SERVICES.
  • INCREASED ACCESS FOR PATIENTS OF SOUTH JERSEY, CURRENT CLOSEST LOCATIONS OVER 40 MINUTES AWAY
  • MORE AFFORDABLE MEDICINE FOR ALL PATIENTS
  • DISCOUNTS FOR VETERANS, SENIOR CITIZENS, AND PATIENTS IN NEED
  • INTERSTATE HWY 40, LOCATION ZONING APPROPRIATE

Upper Pittsgrove, NJ, Twsp. Committee Board has denied our request to operate a medical research Marijuana Alternative Treatment Center at the Americana Gift Shop location, regardless of the current zoning in place, appropriate for Hwy Business, Manufacturing, Retail and Garden Center, specifically citing the following concerns:

  • David Zeck, quoted saying in the Township meeting "I do not want people from Salem, Bridgeton and Vineland, 'poor people', driving through our town to get marijuana", where the clear implications of his statement referred to the makeup and quality of individuals from those locales in which, the City of Salem has a majority [57.7%] African American, Bridgeton has majorities of Hispanic [43.6%], and Black or African American [35.5%] residents. Upper Pittsgrove has a demographic of 91% White residents and the median household income is $86,648.
  • David Zeck was also quoted saying "there was no guarantee that it won't be a recreational location", regardless of our assurances to stay strictly operating as a medicinal and research facility, even with his knowledge (made aware to him at the meeting) of our partnerships with PA Universities and emerging relationships with local Universities.
  • Bruce Bishop, appeared for the last 10 minutes of the meeting to share his serious concern regarding "people who are high driving around". Interrupting an ongoing discussion about our offer to commit to a formal agreement with the township to stay a strictly medical operation, to make his concerns known (which were already addressed fully earlier in the meeting during his absence).

We are asking for the citizens of Upper Pittsgrove Township and Salem County to offer their support to our efforts to bring this amazing opportunity to our Township and County. Please sign this petition to bring jobs and non-life threatening relief to patients in need. Please feel free to contact us with your questions and concerns.
