We humbly petition The Hon Jacinta Allan Minister for Transport Infrastructure to intervene in the processes of the Local Crossing Removal Project so that the community has genuine input into their decisions, particularly in relation to the Montmorency Train Station.

The Hurstbridge Line Duplication Level Crossing Removal Project has made a non negotiable decision to relocate the Montmorency Train station without genuine community consultation and input.

In late 2019, the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) held a public Information session at Montmorency Secondary College, to inform residents of the plan to duplicate the rail line between Greensborough and Eltham, including an upgrade of the Montmorency station.

In October 2020, LXPR distributed pamphlets (issue #4) stating;

“As we continue planning for a new station precinct at Greensborough and the upgraded station at Montmorency, we want to hear from you”

On October 28th, LXRP held an online engagement event to discuss this project.

During this online forum, those that were able to gain access, were asked to select design colours and were first informed of the decision to demolish, relocate and rebuild the Montmorency station 100 metres West towards Greensborough - on the Mayona Rd Side (outbound).  Participants were told this decision was non-negotiable.

LXRP is currently establishing a Stakeholder Liaison Group however the terms of reference for nomination preclude questioning their unilateral decisions.

There has been no genuine community engagement on this project or input from residents.
